CCME Webinar: Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Parks and Planning

Registration deadline is Monday, March 9, 2020

Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Parks and Planning
This webinar will share three different perspectives on nature-based solutions to improve climate resilience, focusing on our urban playgrounds and parks. The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) will discuss their Infrastructure Program, which will be followed by a presentation by the National Program for Playground Safety, who will share their insight and research on climate resilience as it relates to children’s outdoor environments. This includes work they have undertaken with the SCC on playground standards. Following these presentations, the City of Windsor, Ontario, will talk about their on-the-ground work to use nature-based solutions to integrate thermal comfort into the design and development of all new parks and playgrounds in Windsor, and their holistic and integrated approach for land use planning, urban design and municipal infrastructure.

Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) Technologies – Innovation Call
Écotech Québec, the Gaspésie Cleantech Hub and McInnis Cement, in collaboration with the Québec Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation, are joining forces to launch an international call for innovations to identify carbon capture and utilization technologies for Port-Daniel-Gascons, McInnis cement plant.
March 11 2020 | Information webinar Register here |
March 25 2020 | Final deadline for submitting solutions |
April 28 2020 | Virtual team presentation of solutions- if selected (French and English) |

Week of June 1st 2020 | Innovation mission in Gaspésie and the second edition of the Rendez-Vous Carbone |
Despite the many measures taken to make McInnis Cement an industry leader in energy efficiency and environmental performance, the cement plant remains a major source of GHG emissions due to the very nature of the cement manufacturing process. McInnis Cement would thus like to identify the most suitable technological solutions for permanently reducing the cement plant CO2 emissions.
Do you have a solution that could fit the McInnis Cement call for innovations? Submit it by filling the application form available on the Inno+ website by March 25th, 2020.
