Job Summary:

As a Superintendent, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of construction sites, with a focus on completing projects within budget and on time. Using your expertise related to your experience, you’ll implement project plans, prioritize safety and quality, and delegate tasks effectively to the field team and other workers. You will be working around Winnipeg and surrounding areas in Manitoba. There is potential for leading some projects in Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the projects.
  • Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (Site Docs) to promote overall compliance with MCH HS&E standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project.
  • Ensures project materials are supplied and work is completed in compliance with the specifications outlined.
  • Develops, maintains, and drives the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team; ensures project milestones and completion dates are met.
  • Issues material and services purchase orders and confirm receipt of materials and return of equipment.
  • Ensures that projects are compiled to all, specifications, detail drawings, and making sure our clients receive our quality work and maintained sites.
  • Supervises field employees, makes sure their work is planned and performed efficiently, and makes sure their timesheets are accurately coded.
  • Leads project meetings with Management to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression.
  • Maintains a thorough daily report that accurately tracks site progress, events, and inspections.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 8 years of construction experience as a Superintendent or similar direct supervisory role.
  • Experience with contracts.
  • Combination of work Experience in the commercial restoration of construction sites or environmental work.
  • Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes.
  • Ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Experience working with construction documents, contracts, costs, and budgets.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret with management needs, and identify solutions.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • You must be a self-starter, early riser, and used to the hours worked in the construction industry.
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with scheduling

Additional qualifications of value (not required):

  • CET designation
  • Class 1 or 3 A driver licence
  • Environmental Science or Engineering degree
  • Certification in heavy equipment operation
  • HR and staffing experience
  • Surveying experience
  • Past development of corporate policies and procedures

Work Conditions:

  • Site-based role
  • Daily travel between project sites to inspect progress and quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
