Your opportunity
We are currently seeking candidates for the position of a GIS Analyst, in our Winnipeg office. You will be a member of Dillon’s Spatial Information Management team within the Planning and Design group, which comprises policy, physical and development planners, urban designers, landscape architects, graphic artists and transportation & transit planners located in our offices across Canada. You will be a key part of our multidisciplinary group serving our private sector, public sector (federal, provincial and municipal), and Indigenous clients.

Responsibilities:What your day will look like
- Provide GIS technical support related to GIS components of operational projects (internal and external); GIS support including data management, spatial analysis, and visualizations in various GIS and data management software
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams including, planners, engineers, scientists, and technologists
- Work closely with clients (internal and external) to build effective working relationships and respond effectively to requests
- Contribute to business development activities including proposals, client meetings and presentations and conducting field work upon request
- Contribute to the development and management of existing and innovative technical systems, standards and procedures to maintain high standards of efficiency and quality in products and services

- Potential Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request

Qualifications:What you will need to succeed
- A degree in Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Science, Engineering or related field
- Completion of a one-year technical program in GIS, or equivalent
- A minimum of 2-5 years’ professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry, or technical program equivalent
- Demonstrated abilities in use of ESRI GIS software (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and supporting applications)
- Report and Proposal writing, organization and interpersonal skills
- Versatile, organized, adaptable, and willing to conduct a variety of tasks
- Proactive and self-motivated leader and team player with a proven record of providing solutions and effectively collaborating with project teams
Experience:
- Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination
- Understanding of spatial analysis, spatial statistics, remote sensing and working knowledge of ESRI analysis tools (Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst)
- Development of mobile applications (Survey123, Collector, Field Maps) and ArcGIS Online\ArcGIS Enterprise web applications
- Proficient in data compilation, analysis, relational database design, and extract and transform datasets
- Experienced in standard and custom coordinate systems, transformations and datums (vertical/horizontal)
- Designing custom data collection tools and models with automated reports
- Proficient in responding and writing of proposals
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of the following programs and programming languages would be considered an asset: AutoCAD, FME, CityEngine, PowerBI, Tableau, Python, ArcPy, JavaScript, and Arcade
- RPAS\UAV\Drone experience and valid drone license would be considered an asset
