We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Drafting Technician, Engineering Technologist, or Professional Engineer to join our team.

Job Description:

As an Engineering Technician specializing in water treatment, you will play a crucial role in our projects, utilizing your expertise in 3D modeling, 2D drafting, design, technical writing, and fieldwork. The ideal candidate will have experience with software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Pro-E, Revit, or other relevant 3D/2D modeling tools. Experience in the water treatment industry is preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Initial customer contact (phone, email, trade show, etc.).
  • Site surveys and Qualified Person Assessments as per MB Office of Drinking Water.
  • System/equipment assessment to identify sales opportunities.
  • Job estimation, pricing, and preparing quotes for prospective customers.
  • Research and design of new equipment and treatment technologies, and market opportunities.
  • Design of treatment process, equipment sizing and equipment selection to meet regulatory standards and water quality objectives.
  • Preparing design documents such as drawings, design briefs, permit applications for engineer review and stamping.
  • Communicate with regulatory bodies, MB Office of Drinking Water, Health Inspectors.
  • Reviewing design documents created by others.
  • Vendor selection and requesting vendor quotes.
  • Testing, validation, and verification of off-the-shelf hardware and in-house designs.
  • Managing projects and maintaining project deadlines.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support through continuous improvement and cost-reduction methods.
  • Finding, preparing, and submitting bids for tender opportunities.
  • Work with installation and service team to install, commission, and service projects on-site. Will require overtime and some overnight stays away from home.
  • Providing post-install support and troubleshooting to existing customers.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Design Drafting Tech program, Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology, or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering, EIT or P. Eng status.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, Solid Edge preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing methods and design principles.
  • Experience with water treatment, plumbing and building codes preferred.
  • MB driver’s license required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
