Currently, we are looking for qualified technologists and project administrators to work individually and as part of our building science team on the investigation, design assistance, and contract administration of building envelope and roofing projects and building envelope commissioning.

Job Responsibilities:
You would join our group of Engineers and Technologists as a Building Science Technician. We work as a team, taking on growing responsibilities as we challenge each other to improve. Our work includes:
• Building envelope restoration projects involving the investigation, assessment, restoration, and protection of existing assemblies. Your responsibilities in this department may include (but not be limited to):
o Support the project Engineer during initial investigation, assessments and design phases
o Building envelope restoration design assistance and specification writing
o Collaborate with internal colleagues and external project team members for successful completion of projects
o Develop a work plan in alignment with your team, ensuring you meet targets and stay within budget
o Coordinate with subconsultants to meet work plan milestones
o Coordinate, attend, and chair construction meetings
o Administer and document contract changes
o Review contractor submittals
o Monitor project schedule and costs
o Provide regular project status reports to Engineer and clients
o Perform site reviews throughout construction phase
o Quantify and record of repairs
o Prepare construction field reports

Building envelope commissioning projects involving inspection and testing. Your responsibilities in this department may include (but not be limited to):
o Focus on commercial, institutional, multi-unit residential building commissioning projects and energy management projects
o Provide assistance with all aspects of building envelope commissioning project delivery including commissioning plan and specification development, drawing review, submittal review, pre-construction orientation meeting coordination, complete inspections and testing, compile operations and maintenance documentation, compile closeout documentation.
o Contribute to research and development in the field of commissioning
o Participate in the successful development of the systems related to the BECx sector
o Promote the growth of the commissioning service group
o Perform site visits and carry out site inspections and testing

Candidate Requirements:
Our building science technologists are constantly learning and challenging each other. As a member of our team, we expect you to have the following qualifications, with more depth and breadth expected for more experienced applicants.
• Degree in Biosystems or Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
• Must have CTTAM or EGM membership in good standing
• Hands-on experience with building envelope systems considered an asset
• Collaborative and team-oriented approach to work with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, both in person and via web-conferencing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Physically able to investigate construction sites in various conditions
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
• Must be able to pass all government security clearances
