The Canada Greener Homes Loan helps Canadians make their homes more energy-efficient and comfortable. The loan is offered in conjunction with the Canada Greener Homes Grant under the Canada Greener Homes Initiative to help Canadian homeowners across the country. To apply for the loan, you need to submit an application and be approved for the Canada Greener Homes Grant.
The Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Greener Homes Grant offers grants and interest-free loans to help Canadians pay for EnergGuide evaluations and eligible home retrofits. The the grant’s official launch was in May 2021 and the launch of the new Canada Greener Homes Loan was announced on June 17, 2022.
Home evaluations must be completed by an NRCan Registered Energy Advisor in order to be eligible for the grant, which has increased the demand for NRCan Registered Energy Advisors.
