MARR Information Webinar: Recycling and Diverting Construction, Renovation & Demolition Materials – options, best practices and new opportunities for Manitoba

March 21 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Big or small, public or private, vertical (buildings) or horizontal (roads), all construction, renovation and demolition projects are costly endeavours.

Materials and supplies are a big part of the overall cost and even amateur builders can appreciate that wasting materials is wasting money. (“Measure twice, cut once, save your money you big dunce!”)

Despite the obvious and avoidable costs, Construction, Renovation and Demolition (CRD) waste happens. In fact, A LOT of waste happens. The Province of Manitoba estimates that CRD waste accounts for approximately 1/3 total waste that ends up in disposal grounds. That’s a lot of volume taking up expensive landfill space, a lot of future greenhouse gas emissions, and a lot of wasted resources and money!

Tackling CRD waste continues to be a challenge for Manitoba’s CRD industry, for our communities, for our province and frankly, for our entire planet. The good news is that there are recycling, diversion and circular economy opportunities and successes we can learn from. The other good news is that more focus and attention is being placed on finding practical and actionable solutions for Manitoba.

This MARR information webinar focuses on CRD waste (actually, recoverable CRD materials!). Join us to learn more about what they look like, where they come from, and what options and solutions exist for preventing, reducing, recycling, diverting and managing these materials.

We’ll post the full agenda as soon as we finalize a few remaining details. For now, we can tell you that we’ve already confirmed a roster of experienced and insightful presenters from Manitoba and from Nova Scotia (one of Canada’s leaders in CRD materials recycling/diversion).
